Dr. Paloma Salam

Optometrist

​​​​​​​Dr. Salam is a board-certified optometrist who provides a wide range of primary care services, from eyewear and contact lenses to diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders with a focus on anterior segment diseases and dry eyes. She also has experience with Diabetic eye diseases and Macular degeneration, along with the management of Glaucoma. She also provides pre and post-operative testing for LASIK and cataract patients.

She received her Bachelor’s degree with honors from the State University of New York at Buffalo, majoring in Spanish and minoring in Biology/pre-medicine. She then went on to obtain her Doctorate of Optometry from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico. With an extensive knowledge of clinical and conversational Spanish, Dr. Salam provided eye care in underprivileged areas of Queens and Brooklyn, NY.

She is a member of the American Optometric Association, New York State Optometric Association, and Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. She moved to upstate New York in 2015 and prior to 518 Eyes, she provided comprehensive eye care for Albany Eye Associates, Burnt Hills Optical, Sterling Optical, and other medically orientated private practices around the Capital Region. When she is not working, Dr. Salam enjoys traveling, exploring the lake life, taking Zumba classes, shopping, and enjoying quiet evenings with her husband and their two kids.
